Switching it up a little bit here with a more tea-based location, but still awesome.

First of all, shoutout to Sharetea for being open. I was looking for a cup on a Sunday around 6, and there were no options.

Anyways, per the worker’s recommendation, I got a mango flavored boba tea. It was very mango-flavored, if you know what I mean, but I really liked it.

Different than the usual coffee shop on this website, but I’d absolutely go back here. Great tea, good vibes, you could work remotely here, all around no complaints.

I really wish I could have stayed longer because this is a REALLY neat coffee shop. It’s in the lobby of the Marriott, but the shop is its own secluded thing.

It has a few different sections with comfortable seating and places to sit down, plus a more hotel lobby looking area out of a door. Good spot for remote work or just to swing by, as my coffee was excellent too.

I ordered a small mocha-rose iced latte because it looked unique, and it was good. $5.96.

Only complaint is parking, which is to be expected. If you live in uptown you’re good, but the closest garage was $3 every 20 minutes, which is kind of absurd. Not a dig on the shop though, just be smarter than me.

Overall, this place is sweet. Good place for a meet up, remote work, or your pick-me-up for work.
Undercurrent Coffee

Undercurrent is located in Optimist Hall, which is a super cool place if you haven’t been. Lots and lots of great food options and a couple neat stores as well. It isn’t a coffee shop quiet atmosphere, but there is still a vibe to the place.
The coffee is pretty good as well. I got an iced vanilla latte, and it did the job.

Atmosphere: 4/10. Great place, just not really a coffee shop.

I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to go to this coffee shop, but Optimist Hall is a great location. If you want some good food and a food-hall kind of thing, though, Undercurrent is great.
Not Just Coffee

NJC was a great remote work spot. I came in around 11 and there was space for me, and I sat down and did some work in the quiet, airy environment.
I know it’s basic af, but the avocado toast is really good with everything on it. NJC is a good place to be!

I enjoyed my time at Not Just Coffee and I was more than satisfied with the coffee and food. This is a good remote working spot or a good place for a quick bite.
Backdrop Coffee

I was looking for places to go online and someone described Backdrop as a “remote work Mecca.” Considering I am currently doing remote work, I had to go and I think that perfectly describes it. The wifi is good, there’s a lot of seating, and the environment is open.
Per the barista’s recommendation I got a iced vanilla caramel latte which is good but nothing earth-shattering. I will definitely say this place is one of, if not THE best remote work coffee shop I’ve been to thus far.

Atmosphere: 10/10
Coffee quality: 5/10
Price: 6/10 ($5.50 for a 16oz iced latte w/ flavor)
Speed: 10/10 (I ordered when it wasn’t busy but they had plenty of staff)
Number of Options: 7/10

Overall I definitely give this place two thumbs up, especially if you need to get some work done or want to read a book or something.
Wildroots Coffee

This place just opened, and I definitely recommend going. It’s part of a business complex kind of thing, and it’s nice inside (almost a west coast LA vibe). I sat just outside of the shop on a couch and cranked out some work.
As far as coffee goes, they had a list of specialty latte’s they make, so I chose one of those and rode with it. It was good flavor, smooth, and pretty quick. There was only one person actually barista-ing, so if it were busy, I could see it taking a while.

My order: Iced rosemary lavender latte

Definitely on the higher end of shops I’ve been to overall. It was really good, everyone was nice, and there were good places to sit around the shop.
Waterbean Coffee

Waterbean was a great coffee and very timely. It was cold outside and they gave me one of the better hot coffees I’ve ever had. They were very nice and I went with the recommendation of the barista.
One thing I liked was the sign by the register of what each barista recommends.
I don’t remember my order if we’re being honest, but I remember stuff about it:

Overall pretty pleasant and I enjoyed my time at Waterbean! Go if you are in Uptown!
