I go to school in Columbia, so I’ve been able to get around there pretty thoroughly. Here’s where I’ve been:

Indah Coffee– 2238 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Coffee: 7/10
Atmosphere: nice spot for remote work but often busy, 7/10
Speed of Service: 8/10
Price: 7/10
Number of Options: 9/10

As you can see, pretty well rounded coffee shop and one of my favorites of Columbia. Definitely a good place to be and great staff.

Cool Beans Coffee Company– 1217 College Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Coffee: 6/10
Atmosphere: full of college kids (like me!) but a great place to work even if you are not in college, 9/10
Speed of Service: 7/10
Price: 4/10
Number of Options: 10/10 (and some very unique ones too)

More of a college place but I certainly enjoy being there. Good ambiance and the coffee is good. This place is ideal for grabbing coffee with a friend.

Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea– 1002 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Coffee: 7/10
Atmosphere: 6.5/10, can get a bit loud but good to meet with someone
Speed of Service: 8/10
Price: 6/10
Number of Options: 7/10

Solid coffee shop for meeting somebody or for grabbing a cup. A good number of college students milling around, but there are older people as well.
